The Story Behind
Sakura Can Paint was established with the purpose of empowering minority communities through the mediums of sex positivity and art. The artist behind this initiative is of Asian and Latino descent. Growing up within a Latino culture that traditionally viewed sexual expression as taboo, Daniel relocated to the United States, where his artistic expression transitioned from dance to painting. His artistic style draws inspiration from renowned artists such as Tom of Finland, Keith Haring, and Takashi Murakami.

Daniel's artistic journey began in his teenage years, initially centered around dance. With over a decade of professional dancing experience, he eventually broadened his artistic horizons to embrace other forms of expression. Today, painting serves as his primary creative outlet. Daniel's diverse background adds depth to his artistry; of Asian descent but raised in Latin America, his global travels have profoundly influenced his artistic evolution. Presently, he calls the San Francisco Bay Area home.
